RUFC - Scott in bid to keep striker

Rotherham United are hoping to hold onto Shaun Harrad for a bit longer than the month that was originally agreed.

The twenty-seven year old striker signed from Bury two weeks ago on a months emergency loan and has scored three goals in three games and, after Saturday`s draw with his former club, Burton Albion, Shaun said he 'felt at home` with the Millers.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star. Millers Manager, Andy Scott said, 'If we do manage to extend the loan but they (Bury) have a recall on him, then that is better than him going back. I`m hopeful we can keep him but it depends on Shaun himself, on Richie Barker (Bury manager) and on the financial side of it.

'He joined Bury last August and has a three year contract and, for us now, it`s a short term thing where he is helping us get to where we want to be. He`s enjoying it here and we are enjoying having him and we don`t want to lose him. I brought him in to give competition and drive people on. He`s taken the opportunity and he`s inspiring other people to do better.`
