RUFC - Scott pleased with point

RUFC - Scott pleased with point

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott thought his side were excellent this evening as they came away from Gillingham with a point and thought, with a bit of luck it could have been more.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the nil-nil draw, Scott said, 'We changed things at half -time so we could spread across the pitch more so we could deal with their three and I thought the second half was probably the most dominant performance you would get without winning the game.

'We created a lot of chances, played some good stuff and passed it well. We got our front players into the game and our wide players and they had to change their system and they struggled with that. I thought the delivery from our set pieces was excellent and the crosses we got in, in general play were very good. We knew their 'keeper was struggling from set pieces and Sam (Wood) was putting in some fantastic deliveries and we got our head on quite a few of them but unfortunately, couldn't get it over the line. I think it was a case of them holding on but we just couldn't get the break.

'They weren't really in the game in the last twenty minutes and I think it was a case of them holding on but we just couldn't get the break. And the few breakaways they had we defended them very, very well, everybody defended well.

'We looked a lot more solid in the second half and tightened up defensively. And we've had the best chances by a long stretch in the second half. We haven't managed to get the win but it's a very good clean sheet and it's two away games and two good points and four unbeaten.'
