RUFC - Scott 'Warney has enthusiasm'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that having Paul Warne in his squad is sometimes like having an hyper-active child.

Warney, who is in his second spell with the Millers, made his first appearance for the first team on Tuesday night at Gillingham, coming off the bench for the last thirty minutes and Scott told Les Payne of The Star, 'We needed experience out there and he certainly made an impact.

'He has such enthusiasm and is someone who gets people going and is such a good example to others the way he works and has looked after himself. He`s had a problem with his Achilles, which we are keeping an eye on, but you have to rein him in or else he`d go off and do a hundred sit-ups or something. At times he`s like a hyperactive child but he knows what he can do and what he can`t although he thinks he should be starting!`

Warney played over two hundred and thirty games for the Millers in his first spell with the club between 1999 and 2005 before moving to Oldham Athletic and then to Yeovil Town. He re-joined the Millers in the summer of 2009 and has combined his playing with being fitness coach and also turned his hand to being joint-caretaker manager before Andy Scott took over.
