'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Wood 'hoping for longer stay'

Rotherham United midfielder, Sam Wood admits that his performance on Saturday, against Bristol Rovers, wasn`t very good.

Speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, the twenty-five year old, who is on loan from Brentford, said, 'I wasn`t very good on the ball on Saturday. It was an off day but you have those in football. I need to do better. I worked hard for the team but I wasn`t great on the ball. I thought I`d played well in the games before and I need to get back on the training ground and work hard.`

Sam, who has played fifteen games for the Millers since joining in November, has hinted that he probably wouldn`t say 'no` if he was offered longer with the Millers, carried on, 'The lads and the backroom staff have been fantastic with me and I want to play better than I did in the last game and help the team as much as possible. I am happy to be up here at the moment and I`ve enjoyed playing regular first-team football. If the manager is happy with me he will offer me something.`
