RUFC - Chairman confident stadium will be ready

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that the New York Stadium is on target to be ready for the new season.

With having a mild winter only a little time has been lost due to high winds and frost and Mr Stewart, who visits the site two or three times a week, told David Beddows of The Advertiser, 'I can see a difference every time I go.

'The quadrants are filled in, the concrete flooring is seventy-five per cent complete and the windows and glazing for the main stand and offices are going in. The metal work is getting painted and the car park layout has started.

'GMI are putting a lot of pride into what they are doing and the workmanship is superb. I am confident that the stadium can be delivered on time.`

Speaking about the club, Mr Stewart said, 'When you think that, four years ago, Rotherham United were in administration it is amazing how far we have come.`

Perhaps I was being naive but I never thought it wouldn't be ready - now I've got a small doubt!
