Rotherham United players and officials emerged from the dressing room at Barnet after a half-hour 'tell it as it is` session on Saturday after a game which left people wondering which team were pushing for a play-off place and which were at the other end of the table looking nervously over their shoulders.
All but for twenty minutes of the one-all draw on Saturday was, in my opinion, dominated by the home side - which, on reflection, is probably how it should be. At this moment in time we seem to be having trouble stringing two passes together and, as expected, Millers Manager, Andy Scott sounded both disappointed and frustrated after the game. But, it`s not the first time is it?
After the game he kept the team locked away and told Les Payne of The Star that 'people had had their say.`
'We opened up in there, 'Scott said, 'which we do, but this was the first time people had spoken up and the first time everyone has had their say.
'Players had a say; those who did not come on had a say; those on the sidelines had a say and hopefully it`s broken a bit of a barrier, to get things out in the open. Everyone was of the same opinion and we know where we are going wrong.
'There was some home truths which was nothing more sinister than an honest discussion on what is going on. It`s clearly not working in spells in spells in a game and I want to know why - we gave our perspective and we wanted to know theirs.`
I also understand that the team were kept in the dressing room after the loss the Bristol Rovers as well - where one would presume words were being said. Well, it obviously didn`t work or the players had forgotten a week later what was said. Here`s hoping they`ve taken all what was said on Saturday on board and play out of their skins from now until the end of the season.
