'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'it's a ruthless business'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says that 'football is a ruthless business.`

Speaking to Radio Sheffield about top scorer, Lewis Grabban, who he hinted had been 'tapped-up` by a football club throughout the January transfer window, Scott said, 'Lewis has had a lot to cope with recently, his girlfriend was pregnant and he`d had a bit of a dip in form but now baby and mum are both home and doing well so there is a weight of his shoulders.`

There was a lot of speculation about clubs coming in for Lewis in January with Scott saying, 'This was a first for him and he didn`t really know how to deal with all the speculation and it certainly didn`t help the club either. There were certain clubs who were getting involved in a more detailed way than they should have done and there are people involved in football who don`t follow the guidelines. It`s a nasty side of the game but it would be a waste of time to try and do anything about them because it can`t be proved.

'It`s all calmed down now and Lewis has committed to us. He had a few games where he was rested and he`s come back refreshed and I`m delighted that he scored on Tuesday because it was his first goal from open play since January. The shackles have been released and he can go on and score more goals.`
