'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Scott 'we have a mountain to climb'

Rotherham United Manager, Andy Scott says he hasn`t given up the chase on a play-off spot, although he does realise that his team are playing catch-up.

Just three wins since the start of this year haven`t helped the cause as haven`t the four draws out of the last five games with Scott saying, 'We`ve got a mountain to climb. We are getting there slowly but not quickly enough.`

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the Millers boss carried on, 'If we keep playing like we did on Tuesday then there is no reason why we can`t put a spurt on and start climbing that hill and get there.

'I think our form and our results on the whole since the beginning of December show we`re a lot more solid and harder to beat than we were and, if we`d had that since the start of the season, no doubt we`d have been higher.

'What we`ve got to do now is take this forward into the rest of the season and into next year, whichever league we are in.`

Where did it all start to go wrong (if 'wrong` is the right word)? We were doing so well at the start of the season and then October was a disastrous month. Can we say it was after Alfie went that the side started to fall apart? Does one man really make a team? Did the players think 'if they sell him they can get rid of any one of us`? Was Scott and his backroom team expecting too much of League Two players? Indeed, were we, the fans, expecting too much?

We`d love to hear your thoughts on the why`s and when`s of this season so far.
