RUFC - Mullins signs extension

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United midfielder, Johnny Mullins has signed an extension to his contract that will keep him with the Millers until 2014.

Johnny joined the Millers from Stockport County in 2010 and has played over sixty games for Rotherham. Unfortunately, Johnny suffered with a serious knee injury which kept him out of the start of the season but he's made up for it since.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after signing the extension, Johnny said, 'I'm over the moon.

'I was told not too long ago that the club would like to offer me a new contract and I was really keen to get it done and now I'm pleased it is done.

'The gaffer says he's been pleased with what I've been doing but I won't rest on my laurels and I'm hoping we can kick on now as a team and a club. I'm pleased with how I'm playing now but not pleased enough and I want to play better and I want to get this team up the table and up the leagues. I really feel that we've got the core foundation here to really push on. It's been pleasing for me to have the armband a few times this season and, hopefully, I'll get it again but Danny's doing a good job.

'The way the club is going with the new stadium, I'm pleased I'm going to be part of it and I can crack on now and keep going. Driving past it every day I wanted to be part of it and I want to play in it in a successful side and I really believe that next year we can have that. Hopefully we can kick-on this season and make it into League One.'

Great news for the Millers!
