RUFC - Chairman wants to whittle applicants down

Rotherham United have today admitted that former striker and Manager, Mark Robins has applied for the job as the next manager of the club.

Chairman, Tony Stewart, told Radio Sheffield that there are forty-five applicants for the job which he wants to whittle down to at least ten and possibly five and that, in his eyes, there are three who looked to be what the club was looking for. Mr Stewart also said that there had been one applicant from Ireland.

The Chairman said, 'I will be taking advice from people who know more than me about it all. We haven't got a time limit to get someone in and if it took until the summer then so be it, but I think it would be better to get someone in before the end of the season.'
