RUFC - Chairman 'we won't rush decision'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that he isn`t going to rush a decision on the new manager.

After speaking to The Advertiser earlier this week and indicating that the new man would be named sooner rather than later, speaking to Dom Howson of The Star last night he has said that he will take his time.

'We want someone who has been there and done it. They have to have experience in management. We are not looking for someone who wants to come here and learn the ropes. We need someone who can hit the ground running. We would like the manager to have the drive and passion to take us into League One and then the Championship.

'I have been astounded in regards to the quality of the managers who have applied for the job. Some are out of work, some are in work. The calibre has been superb. We`ve been inundated with applicants and I think the fact we are moving to the new stadium and away from the Don Valley Stadium has made a big difference.

'We won`t rush the decision. What we have to do this time is reward the fans of Rotherham so we will be taking our time. If we have to have two to three interviews, then so be it. I`m not putting a timescale on it. It could take a couple of weeks because it`s important we get it right.`

We seem to have heard this before don`t we? Wasn`t Mark Robins going to do this? Isn`t that what Ronnie Moore was brought in for? Didn`t Andy Scott say that`s what he would do?

Wasn`t it only last week we needed someone in as soon as possible to get to know the players, decide what he wanted?

I think I`m becoming 'confused of Rotherham`
