'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman looking for 'passion'

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart told MillersPlayer that when he came to the club he read an article that said the word 'passion' and that 'our players could walk through brick walls' regarding the Millers.

Yet, he said, he hasn't seen that.

'I'm looking for players to give one hundred and ten per cent on every occasion, not just a few occasions.

'And that's not having a go at the players. It's about getting the culture we're looking for in Rotherham. So we won't just build on a promotion that takes us into League One it goes beyond that into the Championship.

'Good preparation has been put into bringing about a stadium that is probably one of the best stadiums in League One, League Two and the Championship. And the planning that went into that is probably the same that is going into getting a manager and get longevity from that manager. I'm told, by people we have interviewed, that we have a good team and it's more of a nip and a tuck that we need, not a radical overhaul. It's about getting that passion, that drive and consistency which we've lacked.

'In a manager we are looking for passion, for someone who can lift the players and who can maximise every game to a cup final. And, if we achieve that, or near to that, then I'm sure we will get the results that we are looking for.'
