'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Patto 'we bossed the game'

Rotherham United caretaker Manager, Darren Patterson said that he thought it was a comfortable win for his side today as they beat bottom of the league Hereford at Don Valley.

Speaking after the game to Radio Sheffield, Patto said, 'I thought we bossed the game from start to finish.

'The first five minutes was absolutely terrific and we couldn`t ask for a better start. We bombarded them with three or four corners, had shots at goal and we really made it difficult for them and we set the tone. We`d spoken all week about making it uncomfortable for them (Hereford) which we did. We pressed very high and the front three worked their socks off and we won a lot of balls in that area. We carved out five or six shots, which weren`t the best, but we had a lot of crosses and a lot of attempts at goal and I think we deserved the goal at the end of the first half. We were pushing and looked like we were going to score and I`m just pleased we did.`

Another clean sheet makes it eleven for the Millers this season and with 'keeper, Rhys Taylor hardly having a save to make this afternoon, Patto said, 'If you look at games we`ve played here this season which we`ve bossed and come away with a loss, I`m really pleased with that today. I was a little edgy on the touchline for the last ten minutes because we`ve seen it happen so many times, so I`m pleased with the clean sheet.

'I thought the midfield three was decent at times and we played some really good football and, in the end, it was a good professional performance.`

Asked if the Chairman had spoken to him at all about the forthcoming manager, Patto said, 'No comment.`
