'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman 'Evans is the Man of the Moment'

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart welcomed new manager, Steve Evans and his side-kick, Paul Raynor at a press conference today.

Speaking to the media there, Mr Stewart said, 'It`s a new beginning.

'Here is a guy who has passion, a good track record, win ability and drive and that`s what we welcome at Rotherham United.

'In the short time I`ve been speaking to Steve and Paul I`ve felt that passion and the drive and the honesty. Integrity is a big thing in football and it inspires the players and brings the best out of people and I`ve a good feeling that Steve and his team will bring about changes to Rotherham.

'I`ve watched the games at Crawley, saw the drive, the passion with regard to the way that Crawley played, which was a big thing we considered.

'He`s the man of the moment. He`s doing the thing that we want at Rotherham which is very important. We are in the entertainment business and we are here to win while entertaining the fans of Rotherham. It`s not just about a new stadium. It`s about a new stadium that`s playing football, that has ambition and I think these guys can get us to where we want to be and I welcome them aboard.`
