Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans said that it was absolutely essential that he brought Paul Raynor with him from Crawley Town.

Speaking at the press conference today, Evans said, 'Paul does a fantastic amount of work on the training ground.

'I decide the tactics and how we are going to play and Paul implements that.

'He`s a massive part in new recruitment as well when we analyse players we are going to recruit. And we`ve got a lot of that right.

'If Paul hadn`t been coming along with me then I don`t know if I`d have been sat here. I think the Chairman recognised that and he had a chat with Paul and he made us feel that, as a partnership, we were very welcome and very valuable.

'We mix and max in training. There will be sessions that I do and sessions that Paul does. Off the pitch we are both the best of friends but we are very critical of each other and if something hasn`t gone right we aren`t frightened to go and have a coffee and work out what we will do tomorrow.`
