RUFC - Evans on Marshall

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans had Marcus Marshall watched last weekend as he played just over an hour for Macclesfield Town, who he joined from the Millers on loan in January.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Evans said that the report he'd had on the former Blackburn Rovers player was good. 'We know Marcus anyway and what he can do,' Evans said. 'I don't think it's any secret that, on his day, Marcus is outstanding.

'What we have to put in our minds is how many days can we get from that. As a management team will we get more than the previous guys.

'There's a whole evaluation process has to take place plus, of course, we've got to look at the market and our options of the players that we like and weigh up the financial situation and whether we'd be better with someone else or whether Marcus would have a big part to play.

'As a management team we've seen Marcus as a Macclesfield player so I don't think we need to see him play for Rotherham this season and we also have to be fair to the boys who are currently in the camp.'

Marcus joined the Millers from Blackburn Rovers initially on loan in January 2010 before signing a permanent contract in July 2010 and has featured in almost seventy-five games. Falling out of favour with former Manager, Andy Scott, after getting a red card in the FA Cup game with Shrewsbury in December, Marcus only featured in two more games before joining Macclesfield Town on loan in January this year, who is scored for on his debut.
