'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View from the Opposition - Aldershot Town

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans was disappointed with a draw at Aldershot on Saturday saying that he goes out to win every game.

Shots Manager, Dean Holdsworth meanwhile said that it was a 'fantastic game of football that could have swung either way`.

Speaking to BBC Surrey after the two-all draw, Holdsworth said, 'In terms of chances in the second half I think we did enough to win the game but we didn`t take them. It was almost like a cup final game with the emotion and I think we gave a very good account of ourselves.

'We were up against a very good side who were spurred on by a passionate manager who will have them ready for next year. They were better than us first half and I made my feelings known at half-time. We needed to show character which we did and we could have won the game

'It`s a learning curve. I put three youngsters on the pitch and the future will be bright for those players who we will work on and develop them into assets for this club.`

Talking about the sending off of Jordan Roberts, Holdsworth said, 'It was a fine line. He slipped and caught the player and their reaction has got him sent off. But that`s the game and I understand that and there are no accusations here. I know the game and he (Roberts) has to learn the game and it`s an education for him today. I`ve got no problems with it. He was late and a bit naïve but I`ll educate him.`
