'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans shows respective players round

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has taken two potential signings round the New York Stadium in the last couple of days.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the Millers boss said, 'We've had a couple of players went round yesterday and one today. And, they can't be anything but impressed can they. Then they come and look around the training ground and the pitches are beautiful and real footballers pitches then go to the stadium and that's the cherry on top of the cake.'

Evans said that the players were higher than League Two saying, 'They are good players at good clubs and we are hopeful that we can get them in. They are experienced players and the right age although I've only met these kids once they have impeccable references although I've watched them both on a number of occasions and both of them will be good signings. We've been very fortunate that the parent clubs of these two individuals have allowed them to be here and we thank those manager's respectively.

'Of course, it won't be just Rotherham United that has an interest in these players. But we've made our pitch to each of them individually and they will go away and consider it and talk to their families and if they are as hungry and ambitious as they both said they were they will want to come and play for Rotherham United because we are an ambitious club.'

Saying he hoped to hear if it's a 'yes' or 'no' from these players by next week, Evans said, 'We've left it with them. We understand that they've got other options to explore and we will afford them that because we should do. We only want players here who want to play for Rotherham United.

'We've got another one in tomorrow (Thursday) and another one on Friday and we'll be busy on Sunday with Monday being a big day talking to the current squad.

'It's going to be a big challenge for everyone next season but an exciting challenge.'
