'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Harrison looking towards the next chapter

Rotherham United midfielder, Danny Harrison says he is 'gutted` after being released by the club on Monday.

Harrison, who has made over two hundred appearances for the Millers since joining five years ago told Dom Howson of The Star that it didn`t actually come as a complete surprise as he`d hardly featured under new manager, Steve Evans.

'Reading between the lines, he has got an awful lot to spend next season so I wasn`t really expecting anything,` the former Tranmere player said. 'I am gutted to be leaving but that`s the way football work and it is disappointing because I would have liked to have played at the new ground. But that`s the nature of football and it`s my turn to move on.`

Speaking about his time with the Millers the twenty-nine year old said, 'It has been a rollercoaster ride at Rotherham. It has not been a straightforward five years. The administration period will go down as one of the low points. It hit everybody hard. Even with the ten points we had taken off, we were still only a couple of points off the play-offs and we might have made automatic that season. Playing at Wembley was a high as well as a low at the same time as we lost.`

Asked what now, Danny said, 'It is an exciting time finding out what`s going to be the next chapter in my career. I feel like I have got a lot to offer another club and my agent will be making a few phone calls over the next couple of weeks trying to sort things out.`
