RUFC - Former Millers gets England call-up

Former Rotherham United utility player Stephen 'Paddy' Brogan has been named in the England C eighteen man squad to travel to Russia in June to take part in the International Challenge Trophy.

Paddy who came through the ranks with the Millers played more than seventy games for first team and is currently plying his trade with Stalybridge Celtic in the Conference North.

Speaking to The Advertiser this week, the twenty-four year old said he hadn`t given up hope of playing in the Football League again and surely this call-up can only put his name back up there but said it was a surprise when he got the call from England.

'It will be a new experience for me and I want to do well because I`m out of contract at Stalybridge. I`ve had a few offers from non-league teams and now I hope this will get me some more interest because I`d love to get back into League football.`

While with Stalybridge Paddy has been amongst the goals saying, 'It`s been good to be playing again and scoring goals.`

Saying that his Mum and Dad are proud of him, let me tell you something Paddy, there will be a lot of Millers proud of you too and all at Vital Rotherham want to wish you 'Good Luck` for the England game.
