RUFC - Boss looking forward to working with Kayode

RUFC - Boss looking forward to working with Kayode

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans told MillersPlayer that latest signing, striker, Kayode Odejayi will bring a wealth of experience to the club.

'We've been watching Kayode for twelve months,' the Millers boss said, 'and coming back to South Yorkshire was probably important to him because he had a wonderful time at Barnsley.

'I've spoken to a number of managers in League One who rated him highly and it's a fantastic signing for us and he's someone we look forward to working with.'

Evans did admit that the thirty-year old should get more goals than he has been doing saying, 'He should get more goals because he spends too much time on the pitch running into channels and running in behind but it's not hidden secret that when Kayode plays the striker next to him gets twenty or thirty goals a season. That's because Kayode creates so much and terrorises defences and, from that point of view, he will bring a real presence to a team and will compete with some other good strikers we've got because let's not forget Alex Revell who I think is top class.

'I don't think it's a secret that Rotherham United would have made the play-offs last season if it wasn't for the strikers, which isn't knocking the ones who are here, and that will be addressed with Kayode. And will be addressed with one or two others.'
