RUFC - Evans would love to see Shearer here

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has confirmed on the Official Site that he would be interested in signing goalkeeper, Scott Shearer who has turned down a new contract with Crawley Town.

'Scott is an outstanding goalkeeper,` the Millers boss said, 'He has a huge presence, his distribution is excellent and his kicking is a real asset but we are only one of a number of clubs in League One and Two who want to sign him.`

Evans has shown the 6` 1`` shot stopper round the New York Stadium and training facilities and said that he was impressed.

'He has a number of good clubs talking to him and I understand it is a big decision for him and his family, but he has promised that he will make a decision this week.

'I hope my last eighteen months with him will give us the edge but it`s football and you never know.`
