RUFC - Millers boss hints at striker coming

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has hinted that, before the week is out, there will maybe news of a striker coming in.

Speaking after fetching in two more defenders yesterday, the Millers boss told MillersPlayer that he wants competition all over the pitch and not just with the strikers, which there will be more news on later in the week.

Evans also said that the club are in talks with a couple of left-backs. We know the type we would like and the character of the individuals we are talking too.

'It's very, very difficult because we are in the position where we are targeting players that other clubs are targeting. But we won't be getting involved in an auction for anyone. We've made an offer and we've not variated on that offer and we've let them go away to think about it and talk to other clubs. But they have looked at the stadium they are going to play in every week and the training ground and the infrastructure, there's a lot of factors.

'Our supporters have been starved of a winning football team and we want to build a squad here to stop that. The Chairman has backed us, which he said he would, and he said that he will continue to back us as long as we work hard.

'We're coming back home and we know the town is ready for us.'
