RUFC - Hunt wants to win trophies

Rotherham United's latest signing, right-back, Nicky Hunt says that he joined the Millers because he wants to be somewhere he can win trophies.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after signing yesterday, the twenty-eight year old said, 'On a personal level it's absolutely fantastic from where the club is now to where the club wants to be, persuaded me to come down here, give it my all and hopefully get the club back in the Championship.'

Asked how he came to sign for the Millers, Nicky said, 'I got a phone call from Steve Evans and, out of courtesy, I came and met him and, for me, from the first time he opened his mouth it was brilliant. Everything he did and everything he said was so positive and when I'd seen the training ground and the football stadium well that was it for me.

'I had a couple of offers from League One and I think it's fair to say that Rotherham United wouldn't have been my first choice for me, but that's all history and I'm here to stay. I want to be somewhere where I can win trophies, play well and win promotion. Stability is the main thing as well as playing regular football and enjoying it again.

'The Manager and Chairman know what they want and will go out of their way to get it and with the players who are coming in and those who are here already, let's hope it's a winning season.'
