Rotherham United`s former caretaker manager and midfielder, Andy Liddell is backing the Millers not only to go up next season but to be champions of League Two.
Speaking to The Star the thirty-eight year old, who is now fitness coach with Ipswich Town, said, 'With the squad they have got I fully expect Rotherham to win the league next year. With the wage budget they will have and a manager who knows the league I will be amazed if they`re not in the top three. They should have got promotion this year with the squad they had but, of course, it doesn`t always work like that.`
Lidds also feels that it was the right thing to keep Paul Warne on in a coaching capacity, saying, 'Warney has been a fantastic servant to Rotherham United and he really has ran himself into the ground for the club. It`s amazing how he was still playing at the age he`s at and he`s put his body through pain to get there. And, believe me, he could still play at that level and do a job.`
