Rotherham United have already had one let down today when a deal for a winger that they were hoping to sign fell through. And, it could be that they aren't going to get the midfielder that they thought they would.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, Millers boss, Steve Evans said, 'Yes, at this minute in time that deal is off too. Although there is some hope that negotiations and talks could resume with that later this afternoon and could last into the evening.

'I've just spoken to the player on the telephone and he wants to come and for all the right reasons. But, even with free transfers, there is always terms to be sorted with the player and his agent and Paul Douglas has to be happy which means there are three parties involved.

Paul Douglas is confident that that deal might resurface. This is a top player and someone we are really keen to get here. But, if Paul says it's over and we have to look elsewhere then I have to respect that and if it's not going to happen then it will be in the best interest of Rotherham United that it hasn't happened.'
