RUFC - More interest in Lewis

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has said that, amongst the speculation that top scorer Lewis Grabban is interesting League One clubs, that if he is still here when the squad reports for pre-season training on 2nd July, that he won't be going anywhere.

It has been well documented that Lewis had been wanted by newly promoted Crawley Town, but couldn't agree personal terms, but it now seems that two other clubs are interested in the twenty-four year old who was one of the players who topped the League Two scoring charts last season.

'Paul Douglas has spoken to two clubs about Lewis,' the Millers boss told the Official Site. 'One said they would come back in the next twenty-four hours, the other spoke to us on Monday and made an offer, which the board will now decide if that is acceptable.

'Both are League One clubs, he certainly won't be going anywhere in League Two. That doesn't mean I will never sell a player to another League Two club, but I don't think Lewis Grabban would move to another League Two club because he knows what we have here.'

Meanwhile, once again Evans has quashed rumours that Lee Bowyer will become a Miller by saying, 'I don't think we could afford his trainers, never mind sign him!'
