RUFC - O'Connor Signs In

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has added another player to his squad in midfielder, Michael O`Connor.

Belfast born Michael signed scholarship terms with Crewe Alexandra just after his sixteenth birthday, making his first team debut, at the age of eighteen, in February 2006.  Michael made over eighty appearances for the Alex and also had a loan spell with Lincoln City where he scored one goal in ten appearances.

In the summer of 2009, the twenty-four year old, moved to Scunthorpe making more than one hundred and ten appearances and pitching in with thirteen goals. In January the Irons turned down a bid from Hibernian for him, saying it wasn't 'good enough' but, at the end of the season, Michael was one of ten players that former Millers boss, Alan Knill, let go.

Michael has ten caps for Northern Ireland.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Michael to the Millers
