RUFC - Kari Planning for the Future

Rotherham United`s latest signing, Kari Arnason says that it was the Millers plans for the future that affected his decision.

Speaking to the Official Site the twenty-nine year old said, 'We (Rotherham) expect to be in the Championship in two years, and being able to help them reach those goals will be a challenge, and the reason I signed for the club.`

Speaking about his move to the Millers, Kari said, 'My agent got in touch with Steve Evans and things progressed well from there. There was interest from other clubs, but what impressed me the most was the facilities at Rotherham, and the enthusiasm of the manager. It just seemed like a very positive place to be playing football at the moment.`

Asked his preferred position, Kari said, ' I played recently against Spain and France as a centre-half, but I've played as a midfielder all my life. I played as a centre-half in the Championship for Plymouth, and I feel it's a role where I've performed at quite a high level.`

Kari has a number of caps for his country, Iceland, and Millers Manager, Steve Evans went to see him play against France recently.
