'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans to go down the loan route?

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart has given Manager, Steve Evans the 'green light' to make an approach for a striker.

Speaking to MillersPlayer, the Millers Boss said, 'I've spoken to the football club and they have said that they have no interest in selling the young man in question. His football club are a big football club and they've said they don't wish to sell him because he's someone they see in their first team in the not to distant future.

'I've spoken to the Chairman again today about a possibility of maybe a six or twelve month loan, which I don't really like, but for someone with the talent he's got, the Chairman has given me permission to go ahead and ask, which I will do this afternoon.

'To buy the boy we would have been comfortably into six figures probably not into the three or four hundred grand mark but certainly, I don't think, would have been short of two. So, from that point of view it would have been a sizeable offer for our football club and it would have shown the ability that both myself and Paul Raynor think that young man has.'
