RUFC - Millers eyeing up winger
Rotherham United have been given permission to speak to a player that is still under contract with his present club, but who also has options elsewhere.
Speaking to the Official Site Manager, Steve Evans said, 'Out of the three or four on our list we felt that the best option was the one who is contracted to another club, he has another year left on his deal but Paul Douglas said that we had permission to speak to him, so we seized the opportunity.'
Speaking about the unnamed winger, Evans said, 'The boy told me at the weekend that he wants to join us and I'd like to get him here but like all of us he has bills to pay, mortgages to pay and mouths to feed so from that point of view the deal has to be right for him, and he has others talking to him as well.
'We are talking numbers which I know we are quite close with but how close we will see in the next twenty-four hours.'
