RUFC - M25 jam brings winger to Millers!

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans has made his eighth signing this afternoon as winger Lionel Ainsworth joins the squad.

'Lionel is a an exciting winger with frightening pace,' the Millers Boss told the Official Site. 'He's a match winner and someone I look forward to working with and I'm glad we've signed him. We've been trying for four or five weeks to sign him and I thought he was off to League One as late as Friday evening, but thankfully for us he got stuck on the M25 for six or seven hours, and I think that made his mind up

' We've added something we didn't have, which is a winger who had sheer pace, and any defender will tell you they don't want to play against someone like that.'

The twenty-four year old will join his former team mate and skipper, Ian Sharps who was also instrumental in getting the winger to the New York Stadium with Steve Evans saying, 'I called Ian on Saturday morning and he said get in the car and go and get him.'
