'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Former striker tips Millers to be champs

Former Rotherham United striker, Tom Pope is looking no further than the Millers as the 'club to beat` in League Two this season.

Now at Port Vale the twenty-five year old made almost sixty appearances for the Millers before leaving for Vale Park last summer and told this is Staffordshire, 'Rotherham have spent loads of money already and they're the obvious bet (to be the title-winners). I don't know what their wage bill must be, but they are backed by a wealthy chairman in businessman Tony Stewart, who is prepared to put his money where his mouth is.

'They will definitely be tough to beat, but we did the double over them last year, so maybe we can do it again.`

The Millers have signed eight new players already this season and Millers Manager, Steve Evans, is hoping to get more in.

Speaking about Evans, Popey said, 'He is supposedly one of the most disliked men in football, but he can't be that bad if he is signing all these decent players.`
