'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - WIlson makes it number nine

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans is pleased to have signed Laurence Wilson who he told the Official Site was his number one choice as left-back.

Twenty-five year old Laurence signed a one year contract yesterday after rejecting a new deal with League Two rivals Morecambe.
Liverpool born Laurence spent his youth career with Everton where he went on loan to Mansfield before joining Chester City in 2006. After making over one hundred appearances for the Blues, the defender/midfielder signed a two year deal with Morecambe in July 2009. He played thirty-four times for Morecambe last season and scoring six goals - two of them being penalties against the Millers in the three-all draw at the Globe Arena.

Steve Evans says that he is delighted to have signed Lawrence, saying that Morecambe Manager, Jim Bentley thinks a lot of him.

'He is very quick,' Evans said, 'and has great technique. He likes to get forward and support the forward players and I think he is very capable of playing at a higher level than League Two.'

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Lawrence to the Millers
