Rotherham United defender, Lawrie Wilson says that his new club look like a club who are 'going places.'

Speaking to MillersPlayer from the New York Stadium, the twenty-five year old, who joined yesterday, said, 'The Stadium is absolutely amazing and it can only look better once it's done.

'For the past month the manager has been keeping in touch with me and in the last couple of days we got talking again and I came down and signed. I got offered a new contract at Morecambe which I rejected, although it was nothing to do with anyone at the club, it was down to my own ambition and to move on and try something different.

'The aim is promotion. This club doesn't deserve to be in League Two they deserve to be higher and I've come her to push on in my career and hopefully that will be with Rotherham. I've only ever come across Steve Evans when I've played against him and everyone likes to win and not more so him, which is what you need in your manager.'

When asked what he would bring to the Millers, he said, 'My defensive duties come as given but I like to get forward and I like to tackle.'

Asked how the New York Stadium compared to the Globe Arena Stadium, at Morecambe, Lawrie said, 'It doesn't. This is by far the better stadium - it's breathtaking.'
