'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman 'excited'

As the sign went up that says` New York Stadium` this week, at the new home of Rotherham United, Chairman, Tony Stewart says he is more excited than ever.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, Mr Stewart said, 'I`m excited, more so than at any time during my time here and I think the people of Rotherham should be too.

'We have a manager in Steve Evans who has come in and embraced the town with both arms and who is putting together a team that is going to play some exciting football. We`ve got the iconic stadium that we wanted and to see the signs go up this week was a wonderful moment.`

With the club`s famous windmill crest and 'Rotherham United` going up shortly, Mr Stewart said that there was still a lot to do at the new ground and said, 'A lot of work is being put into the main stand and it is looking more like a hotel with its showers and toilets but we are now onto what is called the second fix with the painting and carpeting. We will soon be starting the landscaping outside the stadium and it`s all looking really good.`
