'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Raynor 'team effort on and off the pitch'

Rotherham United's Assistant Manager, Paul Raynor said there are very exciting times at the club at the moment.

Speaking to MillersPlayer about what is in store for the players when they return to training at the beginning of July, Paul said, 'A lot of hard work but some enjoyable times as well.

'The gaffer has worked incredibly hard over the summer and I've worked a little bit on that. I get the good bit to show them the stadium and show them the training ground and talk about the project. But it's Steve who does the nitty gritty and entices them with his enthusiasm for what we are trying to achieve here and he's done a great job so far.

'I'm excited about getting out on that training ground and working with the quality players we've acquired over the summer. And we can't forget that we've got some good players that we inherited as well.'

Saying that the pre-season methods were ones that had been tried and tested, Paul said, 'You are always learning, always talking to people and trying to gain that little bit of knowledge. We've got a good bunch of staff here as well who we will be sitting down with in the next week or so and be tweaking what we are thinking of doing and they will all have an input.

'It's a team effort both behind the scenes with the staff and with the players. Hopefully it will all come together on the eighteenth of August if not the Hull City game before that.'
