RUFC - Raynor Praise for Chairman

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Paul Raynor thinks that Chairman, Tony Stewart is a 'very clever man`.

Speaking to The Official Site the former Swansea City midfielder said, 'He had the foresight to build Rotherham United a new stadium and then he managed to persuade Steve Evans to come here.

'It must have taken some doing because I know there were a lot of other club Chairman who tried and failed to prise the Gaffer away from a good football club where he had a great squad of players that he assembled plus relationships with the owners that would make many very envious.`

Speaking about the signings and quality of players that are at the club, Raynor said that that both Evans and Mr Stewart should be congratulated but also warned that the work is still needed to make the squad capable of challenging for promotion. That work will begin in five days time when the players return for pre-season training.

Raynor carried on, 'Rotherham United has a new stadium and a new team, the future is really exciting. Our supporters are here for life and I have no doubt they will see some very exciting times in the season ahead. The team will be very fit, organised, focused and prepared.

'From the Chairman at the top, to the manager, staff, players and non direct football staff, everyone must pull together, by doing that we can make it happen. We are team Rotherham United, a family so to speak, it cannot be any other way.`
