'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'no one will question my passion'

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans says there is no room for passengers in his team and everyone has to share his passion and commitment for Rotherham United - or else!

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the Millers boss said, 'Our players have to thrive on the pressure of playing at the New York Stadium in front of eight thousand people - which is what there will be if we are winning - and they have to make sure that they give me one hundred per cent in every game. If they don`t then they will be shown the door.

'I`ve seen at first hand the passion people have for this football club and it`s unbelievable. From a personal point of view people may question some of my decisions or my tactics but never my passion.`

The fans of Rotherham United are passionate and even when we`ve been at a low ebb, oh and there have been some lows, the fight has always been there - from standing in pouring rain in grounds that you have to wonder how they`ve got a health and safety certificate to running round with plastic buckets collecting money, Millers fans are fighters. And I love the way Steve Evans has moved into the town and goes around talking to people and, probably more importantly, listens. He`s been to schools, to hospitals, to open days, to open nights and his enthusiasm for the club rubs off on anyone listening to him.

You`ve done a good job so far off the pitch Mr Evans, here`s hoping to a great job on the pitch.
