'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Millers fans are impatient!

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans was hoping to announce his tenth signing of the summer yesterday but, as the twenty-four hours he'd hoped went by and some, the Millers fans are still on tenterhooks waiting to hear who it is.

On Friday evening we learnt that the Millers boss had cut short his holiday and was scurrying back to Rotherham saying that he was 'confident' that he would be announcing a new player on Saturday.

With Millers fans eagerly refreshing the Official Site, Twitter, Facebook and football sites all of Saturday hoping to be the first to announce this new signing, I think we should look at the word 'confident'.

Because, confident doesn't actually mean 'I am going to or I will be' does it. Perhaps, on reflection, our Manager should have used the word 'hopeful' instead which probably does mean 'could be', 'might be'.

As time went by people were getting frustrated. But, why? If this mystery player signed in at midnight on Saturday we'd all get to find out on Sunday - does it really matter when we get to find out? He`ll still be lining up in a Millers shirt next season.

Well, in one way it would stop the rumours. Yesterday I found out that Alan Lee, Ryan Taylor, Shaun Harrad, Izale McCloud., James Hayter amongst others were signing/been seen around the area - I even think Andy Murray was mentioned at one time! (Though after his exertions last night he`ll probably be having a lie in today!)

Hey, Steve Evans has said as soon as everything has been sorted, he will tell the fans who we have signed - it's Sunday, so let's just chill eh?!
