'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Raynor 'we want a winning mentality'

Rotherham United Assistant Manager, Paul Raynor, says that they won`t be going into games to lose.

Phew! I think we will all be pleased to hear that!

The Millers have a number of pre-season friendlies against higher league clubs in Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Sheffield United at the New York Stadium and speaking to Dom Howson of The Star, Paul said, 'Winning isn`t the bee all and end all in pre-season but we want to go into the new season with a winning mentality.`

In the past I`ve never really been bothered about the pre-season friendlies and only gone to the odd one and rarely to any away games. But this coming season we`ve even organised a coach to the friendly with Mansfield and I will be going to the first pre-season game which is at Parkgate. And, it seems, we will all be scrabbling for tickets for the Barnsley game - which will be our first at our new stadium (with limited capacity some are going to be unhappy and miss out).

What`s different? I don`t really know except the management duo have really got me thinking I shouldn`t miss much this season.

What about you? Will you be going to any of the pre-season games? Join in the poll at the bottom, to the right, of this article.
