RUFC - New striker on Evans' radar

RUFC - New striker on Evans' radar

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans says that he is looking to bring in another three players.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the Millers boss said, while he was looking at two players now, these things do take time. 'There are two players training with Championship sides who would love to get a Championship deal but I'm not so sure they will and we will be waiting on the fence to see.'

Evans also said that he has a meeting with the Chairman, Tony Stewart later today to talk about making a fresh bid for a new striker. 'He is someone who has come onto our radar and I've had a chat with that Championship Manager today. It's a decision for Tony Stewart and the Board of Directors and all I can do is point us in a certain direction.'

The unnamed striker has had Premier club experience and was prolific for their reserves in his younger days and has scored in the Championship and will command a 'reasonable' sized transfer fee.

So, who could this striker be? The 'names on the street' are Matt Tubbs, Rob Earnshaw, Jack Midson, James Constable - well, actually any striker who is out there!

Maybe we might find out in the next day or so

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.

It was a scrappy start to the game and although Rovers
