RUFC - Boss wants fans to help pick skipper

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans, admits that he had renewed his interest in striker Matt Tubbs but Bournemouth have made it very clear that the striker is not for sale.

This week the Millers Boss had also said he was talking to the Chairman about offering a six figure sum for another striker but, he said, with a price tag of £250,000 he didn`t think he was value for money and so that deal won`t happen.

Speaking about next weeks friendly with Parkgate, Steve said that all the first team players will be stripped for action. He also said that Paul Warne and Paul Raynor have been 'badgering` him for some part of the action and he said if they can put their hands in their pockets for Bluebell Wood then who knows! The players will be training before the game and he hopes to give a number of them some match time.

Steve also said he hasn`t yet decided who will captain the team in the coming season saying that he wants the supporters to have a say in who that should be. (Ed Note - Blimey, that`s a first!
