'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - What should the Millers run out to?

Rotherham United will start the new season in their new home the New York Stadium and this much longed for return to the town has had Millers fans discussing subjects both on and off the pitch.

One of the subjects recently was the running out song.

In the past we`ve come out to 'Let`s Stick Together`, 'Mighty Quinn` (actually, I could be wrong but I do think with this we might have been the first club to have a 'running out` song), some awful thing that sounded like the air raid sirens, Chelsea Dagger and many more.

I`ve seen a few suggestions from the Star Wars theme to Fanfare for the Common Man - both I would think acceptable unless you want to sing as the teams come out?

Now, this may just be me of course, but with the stadium being called 'New York` isn`t there an obvious choice? Yes, it might not be 'stirring` or even 'uplifting` but I bet ninety-nine per cent of Millers fans do know the words to 'New York, New York` - and three sides of a stadium singing to you, scarves aloft swaying, as you walk out would surely make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

I actually think the club have been a bit lax in not producing a CD of the players singing 'New York, New York` - or at least a Millers version of it.

So what do you think about a running out song? What would you like to hear? And what of a goal scoring song?

Come and tell us here on Vital Rotherham what YOU want to hear.
We understand there`s been a few issues recently with joining up - if you have tried to join Vital Rotherham and not received your log in details then please email - membership@vitalfootball.co.uk who will gladly re-set your account.

Well i was going to offer The Rogues's Gravel Walk but it will be more like celtic. New York New York has to be rearranged as a chant i dont know if club does it or not. Im too far away from UK , i just came to the Burton match 2 years ago it ended 3-3 and the goal song was fun i enjoyed it.
