RUFC - Stadium a Tribute to Chairman's Hard Work

Rotherham United will make history tomorrow when they move into their brand spanking new stadium tomorrow back in Rotherham.

The keys were handed over to Chairman Tony Stewart on Monday, in which, to be honest, was a bit of a quiet affair. But it will be tomorrow when the fans grace the New York Stadium for the first time that will really be the 'first day`.

Millers Manager, Steve Evans, has already said how proud he will be to be at the helm for the first game, which is the friendly with neighbours Barnsley and is a sell out and speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser he says the occasion will be a 'milestone`.

'It will be a fantastic occasion,` Evans said, 'and a special day all round.

'When the club moved to Don Valley some might not have believed the Chairman when he said he would bring it back to Rotherham in four years. Well, he`s not just done that but it will move back to a really stylish new stadium which everyone can be proud of.

'This stadium is a wonderful achievement and one that is a tribute to his hard work.`
