RUFC - Tears Tomorrow? Oh, I should think so

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Chairman, Tony Stewart says that tomorrow, when he sees the crowd in the New York Stadium, will be the day that what he has done for the folk of Rotherham will really hit him.

'There might well be a tear,` the Millers Chairman admitted to David Beddows of The Advertiser. You know Tony, you won`t be the only one.

Four years Millers fans have waited for this day and nothing - not even this god-awful weather - is going to spoil it.

Along with the Chairman we`ve all been drawn to the old Guest and Chrimes Foundry site and watched it grow from a blank canvas to this brand spanking new shiny place of worship. We`ve all cheered when the diggers have gone in, the cranes have gone in, and the concrete was poured in. We`ve all watched practically brick by brick as this building has progressed and we nearly went into orgasms when the floodlights went up (Fifty Shade of Grey? It`s nothing to watching your 'church` being built before your eyes!)

And when ever we`ve passed this place we`ve smiled and alongside the tears tomorrow there will be more smiles and more people grinning from ear-to-ear. We will embrace this stadium. On match days we will become 'New Yorkers`.

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls We Are Home - and it feels bloody brilliant.
