RUFC - Evans pleased about good feedback

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans is impressed how fast the news about the New York Stadium is spreading.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star, the Millers Boss said, 'We have had a lot of positive publicity about it (the stadium) but there is nothing better than word of mouth and our fans and those who have experienced it so far have been telling their mates and work colleagues and anybody else about it. Now, what we are hoping will happen is that people will come and experience it themselves.`

I have actually heard a couple of negatives about the NYS - but as they were from Doncaster Rovers fans I just take that as a bit of the 'green eyed monster`. I think what makes our new stadium a bit more unique than other new builds is the fact that it is in the heart of the town which, for Millers fans, makes it easy to get to. It can only be good for the local shops/cafes/pubs in town too and it was great to see that the nightclubs were opening at lunchtime last Saturday for people to have a drink or two before going to the game.

For me, one of the nicest things was walking through the bus station and seeing so many red and white Rotherham shirts in there - which we haven`t seen for four years.

And the other positive is that the team have, so far, played their socks off - under Steve Evans I am sure that will continue into the coming season and beyond ….
