RUFC - Douglas pleased with positive feedback

Join The Vital Debate

Rotherham United Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas says that feedback about the match day experience at the New York Stadium from fans has been very positive.

Speaking to The Advertiser Mr Douglas said that the biggest concern has been ticketing as they are not yet being sold at the new stadium but he said they are coping.

I think all the fans knew that the stadium wouldn`t be 'the finished article` by the time the first friendly took place last weekend but I, for one, was impressed at how much had been done. OK the swipe system at the turnstiles wasn`t up and running (don`t know if it will be this weekend) and I personally don`t think there were enough stewards around helping people but these are teething problems (and believe me having worked around two new builds in the past these are very minor!)

The club are hoping to have the South car park up and running for the 18th August for the Burton Albion game which is closed at the moment for flood alleviation work and they are hoping to move all club operations from Barbot Hall to the New York Stadium for then too.

So, if you`ve not done the New York experience yet get on down there and give it a whirl - I don`t think you can help but be impressed.
