RUFC - Boss won't buy for the sake of it

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans, says he won`t be buying any more players unless the right one comes along.

Speaking to Paul Rickett of The Advertiser the Millers Boss said, 'I won`t do what Andy Scott did and buy players just for the sake of signing them.

'I think we can all identify one or two in the squad that are still here because their contracts overlap from last season and they are having to work extremely hard just to get a place on our bench. But, I won`t fault those lads because they are giving it everything they`ve got.`

Steve went on to say that he wouldn`t sign players who might 'come good` in a couple of years but said he is still in the market for the type of player who will make a difference to the squad right not. 'If there`s a player who will add to what we`ve already got then there are funds in the budget.`

I think we`ve had a couple of managers of late who have just bought because they can or felt pressured into it - so good on Evans for not doing that.
