'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'we have quality here'

Rotherham United Manager, Steve Evans says that if the players perform tomorrow against Hull City in the Capital One Cup then the team for the first League game against Burton Albion at the New York Stadium will pick itself.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser, the Millers Boss said, 'If you look at the squad we have here there is more quality than the one I had at Crawley. But, over the course of the season, we will find out if they have the drive and determination that that group of players did because they were knocked by everyone in the country but never gave up.'

Saying that he could see 'steel' in the squad he went onto name Johnny Mullins, Kari Arnason, Ian Sharps, Scott Shearer and David Noble as 'real winners'.

Evans has already said that he likes to have competition for places which I do think we've had before. But having seen all the players we have in the squad this season I do think they gel together better than in previous seasons which is surely one of the main assets to a successful side.
